TERC India consists of a team of 50+ Christians as leaders for shouldering the responsibilities in maintaining this institution. We are saved from sin by faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary and are baptized in the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, gathered together unto the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in different parts of India. It was prayed over and conceptualized on 22nd November of 2019 when brethren from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Pune and Kerala assembled together in thanksgiving meeting, and has been functional since 2nd October 2020. TERC is not an organization, but a God-given assembly oriented ministry for Scriptural learning. It is the result of a long journey of 39 years in the mission field with various experiences.
Many young people of this generation are in assembly fellowship by tradition, and certainly not by conviction. Another reason being, they miss the daily practice of the presence of the Lord, in-depth personal bible study and its application in life. The lacunae lies in providing a systematic and disciplined approach to learn the Scriptures. TERC is a humble, honest attempt to fill this void to bring the youths back to Bible—from the comfort of their homes. It is not, and never meant to be, a replacement for personal Bible study and assembly fellowship.
What do we believe? Some essential doctrines!
“Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with various seeds.” (Deut 22:9)
We acknowledge the verbal, plenary inspiration of the word of God. We believe that it is infallible and inerrant and God has revealed His whole mind to us only through the 66 canonized books of the Bible (2Pet 1:21; 2Tim 3:16, Dan 12:8-9; 2Pet 3:15-16; Mt 5:17-18; Jn 14:26, 16:12-13).
We believe in the Doctrine of Trinity. God is One in essence, but three in respect to persons. In other words, in the one being of God, there are three persons, of one substance, power and eternity – Father, Son and the Holy Spirit (Deut 4:35-39, 6:4; Jn 17:1-3; Heb.1:8; 2Cor 3:17; Jn 10:38; 1Jn 1:1-3, 5:7).
We believe in the deity and humanity and eternality of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is perfect God and perfect man. He is impeccable (Phil 2:6-7; Heb 4:5, 13:8; Jn 1:1-3).
We believe in the permanent dwelling of the Holy Spirit in every believer of this present age (Jn 14:16-17; 1Cor 12:3; Rom 8:14).
Baptism of the Holy Spirit brings believers into the union with other believers in the body of Christ. Baptism of the Holy Spirit occurs simultaneously to salvation and it is not experiential frequently, but it is historical (1Cor 12:13).
Filling of the Holy Spirit is different from the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is a commandment: “..Be filled the Spirit” (Eph 5:18). Being under the complete control of the Holy Spirit. It is not a one-time experience but rather a repeated experience which is essential for spiritual maturity and service (Acts 4:31, 9:17-20; 1Cor 3:1-3).
All are sinners (Rom 3:23). Jesus Christ is the only Saviour (1Tim 1:15). Salvation is obtained by grace as a free gift from God through the precious blood of His Son Jesus Christ (Rom.6:23; Eph 2:8).
We believe in the eternal security of salvation of every believer (Jn 10:27-28). We distinguish the saved from the apostate. For example, Judas Iscariot was an apostate (2Tim 3:5; 1Jn 2:18-19).
Our Ecclesiastical doctrine is based on Acts.2:42, the first assembly of Christians commenced in Jerusalem around A.D. 33. Holding that the word ἐκκλησία (ekklēsia, “church”) refers to people, not a building, but gathered unto the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in a locality. It is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
TERC team follows the pattern of New Testament church doctrine, taught by the Lord Jesus Christ, recorded in the gospels and its practice found in the Acts of the Apostles and expounded by the Apostle Paul in his epistles, notably, 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy.
We believe in the independence of the local church and is governed by the godly elders and deacons under the guidance and control of the Holy Spirit (Phil 1:1: Acts 11:22-23, 20:28).
We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of all N.T. believers, the Second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory and the millennial reign of Christ on earth (1Cor 15:51; Rev 3:10; 1Thes 1:9-10; Rev 20:4-6) and the eternity wherein dwelleth righteousness.
TERC is involved in spreading the glorious gospel of Christ through various means including public preaching, literature work, Bible and Book exhibitions, children’s ministry and school visitation. Distribution of gospel tracts, gospel calendars and other evangelistic material in common place as well as open-air preaching. Along with thousands of assemblies and with many hundreds of full-time itinerant evangelists, missionaries and Bible teachers around the globe, having the same conviction, based on those things which are most surely believed and practiced in the light of Holy Scripture. Spreading the message of Jesus Christ and upholding the fundamental truths of the Bible continues as the vision of TERC.
We are burdened to contribute practically to the needy people around; for the education of poor students, medical support, food, and clothing to the needy, counseling young couple, and developing educational values, career guidelines and counsel for parents for the godly up-bringing of children—as best as we can, within the limit of our resources.
